Although two people were expected, no one turned up at the Dulwich Clock Cafe at 0930 for my Alexandra Palace ride, despite 400 turning up for the Parkrun, of whom about 30 came with bikes.
So I did a protest ride on my own. This is what I was protesting about:
Why should it be necessary to join CLOG, a bunch of hill-walkers, to do regular cycle rides that are more challenging than Healthy Rides? Why can't there be Inner London based British Cycling or Cycling UK clubs which do rides that go to places like Meopham? Why was it that every single one of the thirty of so cyclists I saw on the route was male, was wearing lycra, was riding a drop handle bar bike and was doing a ride that finished at lunch time?
