Eventbrite Rides is a new scheme that has helped many people to do post-lockdown cycling over the last few months. This volunteer-led initiative is operating across much of London and is expanding – and now we want your help to spread the word to people who want to cycle more but lack confidence to create their own Eventbrite tickets.
The scheme introduces new and returning cyclists to experienced riders to give them moral support, help them plan routes and ride together. With unprecedented numbers of new riders on the roads, we want to help them build the confidence to keep on cycling in London. Very often, a bit of friendly support can make all the difference.
Eventbrite tickets are easy to sign up to and incredibly useful. They encourage cycling newbies to commit to going on rides and to gain confidence with cycling. It’s really enjoyable.
Since starting in Southwark as lockdown lifted, the Eventbrite rides scheme has spread across London – check out our map to see which boroughs are live.
For experienced riders, leading Eventbrite rides is rewarding. It’s so good to build this community and to demonstrate the values and behaviours we want to show. Turn and share a smile – we are not in a car.
With a network of experienced riders across London, we are ready to support more new cyclists.
To help out the running of Eventbrite rides you can:
- Sign up as to rides on the Eventbrite website
- Share the news with friends, family and colleagues. Do you have a noticeboard, Facebook group or other social media where you can reach out to people who haven’t cycled or are beginning to think about it? Please tell the story and share the link to sign up.
