It was good news that we were were able to assemble a full complement of 6 riders for this ride to the Faesten Dic, despite the heavy rain that had been forecast. We had planned to run the ride in two groups of 6, but, when we met we found that, by not having staggered the rides, we could amalgamate these two groups into a single group. Given the looming lockdown, the threat of Zoom AGMs and with no one paying membership subscriptions to our Treasurer, it was particularly important for us to demonstrate, while we can, that we are a cycling group with "real" members, who want to meet up in person.
We did make it to Sidcup without there being too much rain, but the next section of the ride was very wet. The paths in Joyden's Wood appeared to be muddy, but many had a good surface hidden below the mud and leaves. We stopped off for photographs at the dyke and then continued to Hall Place, where we stopped of for a well-earned refreshment break. By then the rain had subsided and we were able to cycle back at a slightly faster pace to Cutty Sark Gardens, where the ride finished.
