Our rides programme is now published on Eventbrite - we're simply a bunch of local bikers who got together in May 2000 to push bikes up the agenda, press the Council for better bike facilities, do rides for all sorts of people, and have some fun at the same time. We've a proper Constitution and an Equal Opportunities Policy we believe in.

Ride to the View Tube - Sat Nov 21st

During lockdown, we are doing an experiment in democracy - each bubble of two makes its own mind up about what ride it wants to do. We can't all meet up at the View Tube to do a ride, but groups of two can still cycle there for a takeaway, as long as the groups are kept separate. The View Tube is a good destination for us, because, although it doesn't have a resident cycling club, it is still place where you often see other cyclists.

On Sat Nov 21st, at the last count, there were no less than six pairs of cyclists riding around North London. Rides were run like relay races with groups of two doing sections of a route and then handing over to a different group of two, freeing the original group up to return home via a suitable route.

Dog & Bell Crew Catchment Area

As each London borough only has a very small number of residents interested in doing social rides, we have found that it is necessary for borough-specific cycling groups to organise rides on a cross-borough basis under the auspices of the Dog & Bell Crew. This is a graphic showing (in red) the Dog & Bell Crew boroughs and (in green) the group's catchment area. Other boroughs do rides as well, but they make their own arrangements and we rarely come into contact with them.
