But regular users of the letsride.co.uk website will know that it is not just ride registration that we require. We also need to show people who else is on this ride.
We can do this now, as software "end of life" issues have forced us to rebuild our website from scratch. You can sign up for an account at https://cyclistsinsouthwark.org.uk/user/register, attach a picture to your user profile and then book places on rides.
This year, with the Christmas Day Waifs and Strays Ride being replaced by The end of LFGSS Bonanza Day Out on Bikes, it is even more important that we get things right!
This ride will start at 11.00am from the Southwark Needle, 1 Tooley St, London SE1 2PF.
On Christmas Day it is customary for cyclists from London's many and diverse boroughs (and even beyond!) to assemble at the Southwark Needle to do a cycle tour of some of London's lesser-known but still iconic sites.
These include the "Mother Goose" Church, the French Ordinary Court Tunnel, Beehive Passage, Leadenhall Market, the Old Curiosity Shop, the Upside-down Globe, Seven Dials and, although not lesser-known, The Mall.
Once we reach Edgware Road, we stop off for a very reasonably priced Christmas Day Lunch at one of the Lebanese restaurants, which are open as normal on Christmas Day.
The ride is the 24th Christmas Day ride, following a tradition started in 2001 by Barry Mason.
Barry Mason died in 2011, necessitating the formation of conclave at an SE London pub to ensure that the traditions he had established would continue:

Everyone welcome. You don’t have to be a member of anything to attend - but it helps!
