Meet in Saturday Nov 25th at 9.00am at the Southwark Needle to do this 18 mile social cycle ride, which will be a circumnavigation of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. We will stop off at Boulangerie Jade, 9 Major Draper St, Royal Arsenal, for a mid-ride coffee break and the ride will finish back in Southwark at the Golden Hinde at about 12.30pm.
The route for the ride can be downloaded from here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45015283.
After Drake's circumnavigation of the world, the Golden Hind was maintained for public exhibition at the dockyard at Deptford, London, close to the Dog & Bell. The ship remained there from 1580 to around 1650, before the ship eventually rotted away and was broken up. It has now been replaced by a replica in the London Borough of Southwark.
You don’t have to be a member of British Cycling to attend - but it helps!
